THE BUILDING

Built in 1911, the historic building on the northwest corner of State & Main in Scottville was originally home to People's State Bank.  The bank's first president, Nathan G. Sayles, was a successful merchant and Postmaster who made his mark in Scottville as an active founding community member.  Since the 1930's the building has housed several memorable businesses including Smith's Auto, Erwin's Sports, and most recently, McMaster's Professional Center.  Under local ownership with three newly renovated apartments upstairs, the future of the building includes community, collaboration, and coffee.
